New polymer composites and microdevices for biomedical devices

Abstract

The quest towards personalized medicine forces the development of original, efficient and scalable technologies that runs in a compatible time-frame with the clinic.
Smart functional polymer materials wisely integrated in micro-(fluidic) devices can be employed for instance to develop tumor cancer models in a simple and cheap manner.
The project will aim at the conceptualization design, building and experimental assay of a polymer membrane-based microdevice able to recapitulate in vitro tumor models.
